Hanoi (VNA) – Ly Hoang Nam advanced to the quarter-finals of theThailand F8 Men’s Futures tennis tournament in Nonthaburi province on October11.

Vietnam’s top tennis ace defeated Japanese Masato Shiga 6-3, 7-5 in the singlessecond round.

He will next face second seed Australian Max Purcell. Purcell advanced to thelast-eight round after his opponent Wishaya Trongcharoenchaikul of the hostswithdrew when down 7-6 (3) to Purcell.

In the doubles, Nam and Japanese Ito Yuichi came from behind to beat No 3 seedsChung Yunseong and Purcell 6-7 (6), 6-4, 10-8 in the quarter-finals.

They will meet top seeds Vijay Sundar Prashanth and Karunuday Singh of India inthe last four. The Indians on October 11 won 6-1, 6-3 over wildcards CongsupCongcar and Kittiphong Wachiramanovong of Thailand 4-6, 6-3, 10-8.-VNA

Over 100 burials from 4000 years ago discovered in Hanoi

Festival promotes Vietnam-RoK cultural exchange

Hanoi Ao dai dance marks Vietnamese women’s day
