Vietnamese duo qualify for Thailand F5 Futures’ quarter-finals

Hanoi (VNA) - Nguyen Hoang Thien and Ly Hoang Nam advanced to thequarter-finals of the men’s doubles in the Thailand F5 Futures tennistournament.

The No 3 ranked duo from Vietnam defeated Chiu Yu Hsiang (Chinese Taipei) andDarren Polkinghorne (Australia) 6-4, 6-4 in the first round match held at theNational Tennis Development Centre in the central Thai province of Nonthaburi.

Their next rivals have not yet been identified.

In the singles event, tournament’s No 3 ranked Nam will play Arata Onozawa of Japanin the first match. Thien failed in the qualifying round.-VNA

Over 100 burials from 4000 years ago discovered in Hanoi

Archaeologists from the Vietnam Institute of Archaeology, the Hanoi Museum and the Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities have announced the discovery of over 70 graves from the pre-Dong Son period and 40 graves from Dong Son period at the Vuon Chuoi archaeological relic in Kim Chung commune, Hoai Duc district.

Festival promotes Vietnam-RoK cultural exchange

A cultural festival has been held in Uijeongbu city of the Republic of Korea (RoK)'s Gyeonggi province to mark the 10th anniversary of the Vietnam Women’s Association (VWA) in the country.

Hanoi Ao dai dance marks Vietnamese women’s day

Vietnam attends UNESCO Executive Board’s 220th session in France
