Hanoi (VNA) – The national football team will enjoy a training course in the Republic of Korea as one of their activities in preparing for the upcoming ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Cup.
Players will be summoned in late September before competing with the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea in a friendly match on October 8 at the My Dinh Stadium in Hanoi.
They will depart for the Republic of Korea seven days later, where they will take part in an intensive course and three games with local squads over the course of two weeks.
Two other friendlies are planned for the team when they are back to Hanoi on November 5, with the rivals yet to be confirmed.
The AFF Cup’s draw will be organised on August 2 with the Philippines and Myanmar as co-hosts.
Thailand is the defending champion.
In the last event, Vietnam stopped at the semi-finals, losing 2-5 to Malaysia after a two-leg match.-VNA
