Hanoi (VNA) – Measures to bring Vietnamese literary works,especially contemporary literature, closer to Chinese readers were discussed bywriters from the two countries at a meeting held in Hanoi on November 17.
President of the Vietnam Writers’ Association Huu Thinh noticed that enhancingthe translation of Vietnamese works into Chinese is a significant move.
A line-up of Chinese works was translated into Vietnamese, helping Vietnamesepeople understand the value and quintessence of Chinese literature and culture,Thinh said.
Forhis part, Li Jingze, Vice President of the China Writers’ Association, saidthat literature has made significant contributions to fostering cultural exchangesas well as relations between the two associations.
Visitsto Vietnam by representatives of the China Writers’ Association are catalyststo promote ties between the two associations, he said.
Li hoped that further literature exchanges will be organised, creatingopportunities for writers from both sides to discuss ways to promote values ofAsian literature.-VNA
