Thailand’s Tourist Police has launched the Augmented Reality (AR Code) Application ‘Thailand Tourist Trips and Tips AR Book’ at Suvarnabhumi Airport.

The new Augmented Reality technology creates an all new tourism experience for foreign visitors to download on their smartphones.

Pol.Maj.Gen. Suprapone Arunsit, Commander of the Tourist Police Division says ‘ With this application, tourists can get basic Thai Culture Tips, and Thailand’s Do’s and Don’ts. While travelling in Thailand they can find information about places and location links to fascinating tourist destinations. 'Discover Thainess’ reveals 12 Cities Hidden Gems that are not to be missed. The application is a 3D cartoon model, with viewing in 360 degrees and is available in three languages: Thai, English and Chinese’.

‘Users can get the information they need from Tourist Police Stations across the country as well as the Call Center 1155 via this application. The application is expected to boost tourists' confidence in their safety when traveling around Thailand and to help create a good image of the nation’s tourism to become the Tourism Capital of Asia.’ adds Pol.Maj.Gen. Suprapone.

The application ‘Thailand Tourist Trips and Tips AR Book’ can be downloaded now from the App Store for iOS and Google Play for Android users.-VNA
