Moscow (VNA) – Nearly 50 Vietnamese people living in differentcities of Russia participated in a winter tennis tournament held by the VietnamTennis Association in Russian Federation (VITAR) in Moscow from December 6-9.
Competing for six setsof cups, participating athletes entertained audiences with fierce and competitivematches.
The annual event aimsto enhance solidarity among the Vietnamese community in Russia.
On this occasion,VITAR organised a congress, during which a new 15-strong executive board forthe 2018-2021 tenure was chosen, with Phan Tuan Khanh re-elected as its president.
Khanh said that VITARhas served as a bridge connecting Vietnamese people in Europe, as theassociation’s open tournaments have attracted the participation of athletesfrom not only Russia, but also other European nations.–VNA
