Kuala Lumpur (VNA) – Vietnam fell to third place in the medal tally on August 27at the ongoing 29th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games with 53 gold, 38 silver and 50bronze medals.
The countrysecured two gold medals in judo, three silvers in women’s futsal, taekwondo andbilliards on August 27. It also bagged four bronzes in men’s volleyball,springboard, billiards and taekwondo.
Malaysiaremained on top of the tally with 96 gold, 64 silver and 63 bronze medals,followed by Thailand (54 gold, 71 silver and 68 bronze medals).
Bruneiwas at the bottom of the list with 4 silver and 7 bronze medals, while TimorLeste was yet to seize any medal.
Vietnamsent more than 470 athletes to compete at the Games from August 19-30. They arescheduled to take part in 32 out of 38 sports and set to bring home 49-59 goldmedals to rank in the top three.-VNA
