Hanoi (VNA) – More than800 Vietnamese and foreign runners have registered to compete at the 2016 HaLong Bay Heritage Marathon, slated for November 26 in Ha Long city, northernQuang Ninh province.
The athletes include 568 Vietnameseand 240 others from 33 countries and territories such as Russia, Germany, theNetherlands, Japan and China.
The event features distances of42km, 21km and 10km for runners. A 2kmrace will be held for local students.
While running, athletes can enjoythe magnificent landscape of Ha Long Bay – one of the world natural heritagesrecognised by UNESCO – on the course.
The marathon, promoted by theAssociation of International Marathons and Distance Races, includes total prizemoney of 192 million VND (nearly 8,500 USD) with the biggest, 25 million VND(1,100 USD) apiece, for the best male and female runners in the 42kmdistance.-VNA
