Hanoi (VNA) - Entries are invited from runners for the first Ha GiangProvince’s Marathon Open which will kick off on April 30.

Thetournament entitled Running on the Happiness Routine offers a semi-marathonroute of 21km for all participants. It will start from Dong Van town, home tothe Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark, through Pass Ma Pi Leng to Meo Vac Town

Thereare also races for amateur athletes. Men will take part on a 5km track whilethe women will test their skills over 3km, which have been organised within MeoVac town.

“Allthose who are interested in running and are over the age of 16 and in goodhealth, could register for our event. Locals, tourists, and expatriates, areencouraged to enjoy the run as well as taste our unique culture and spectacularscenery,” said Tran Duc Quy, Deputy Chairman of the Ha Giang provincial People’sCommittee.

Quysaid, runners could arrive the province some days prior to the event to takepart in a typical cultural week of Khau Vai Love Market running from April21-24. Later on, they could visit an exhibition which features local specialtieson April 28-30.

Asthis is the first time, the organisers will limit the number of runners to 250in each category. Late registrations after April 10 will be rejected.

Over 100 burials from 4000 years ago discovered in Hanoi

Archaeologists from the Vietnam Institute of Archaeology, the Hanoi Museum and the Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities have announced the discovery of over 70 graves from the pre-Dong Son period and 40 graves from Dong Son period at the Vuon Chuoi archaeological relic in Kim Chung commune, Hoai Duc district.

Festival promotes Vietnam-RoK cultural exchange

Hanoi Ao dai dance marks Vietnamese women’s day

More than 70,000 women from across the capital city of Hanoi dressed up in Ao dai (traditional long dress) and participated in a folk dance ensemble on October 20 to mark the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Hanoi and the 94th founding anniversary of the Vietnam Women’s Union.
