Mong ethnic culture festival 2017 held in Ha Giang

Thousands of tourists flocked to the 2017 culture festival of Mong ethnic people in the northern mountainous province of Ha Giang from February 4-5.

Ha Giang (VNA) – Thousands of tourists flockedto the 2017 culture festival of Mong ethnic people in the northern mountainousprovince of Ha Giang from February 4-5.

The annual event in Meo Vac district, the third of its kind,aims to preserve the traditional cultural values of Mong ethnic group, saidChairman of the district’s People’s Committee Nguyen Cao Cuong.

A highlight of the festival was an art programme featuringthe cultural diversity of Mong ethnic residents in Dong Van stone plateau.

Visitors could participate in various traditional culturaland sport activities as well as enjoy local food specialties.

Mong ethnic people comprise of nearly 80 percent of the totalpopulation in Meo Vac district, one of the four districts in the Dong Van stoneplateau, which was recognised as a member of the Global Network of NationalGeoparks in 2010./.

Over 100 burials from 4000 years ago discovered in Hanoi

Archaeologists from the Vietnam Institute of Archaeology, the Hanoi Museum and the Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities have announced the discovery of over 70 graves from the pre-Dong Son period and 40 graves from Dong Son period at the Vuon Chuoi archaeological relic in Kim Chung commune, Hoai Duc district.

Festival promotes Vietnam-RoK cultural exchange

A cultural festival has been held in Uijeongbu city of the Republic of Korea (RoK)'s Gyeonggi province to mark the 10th anniversary of the Vietnam Women’s Association (VWA) in the country.

Hanoi Ao dai dance marks Vietnamese women’s day

More than 70,000 women from across the capital city of Hanoi dressed up in Ao dai (traditional long dress) and participated in a folk dance ensemble on October 20 to mark the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Hanoi and the 94th founding anniversary of the Vietnam Women’s Union.

Vietnam attends UNESCO Executive Board’s 220th session in France
