Hanoi (VNS/VNA) - Hungarian pianist Janos Balazs will debut to perform a repertoireincluding classical and modern pieces at the Vietnam National Academy of Music(VNAM)’s Great Hall on December 4.
Balazs is one ofthe most successful and acclaimed pianist in classical music and he is knownfor his performances in the world’s most prestigious concert venues andphilharmonic orchestras such as the Brussels Philharmonic, the DortmundPhilharmonic and the Nagoya Symphonic Orchestra.
In the firstperformanc in Vietnam, the pianist will play pieces by Bach-Busoni; Chopin;Liszt; Brahms-Cziffra and Strauss-Cziffra.
"Balazs isone of the few artists equally loved by audiences, fellow professionals, andmusic critics and is one of the few classical musicians who is willing and whois able to improvise at live concert," said Hungarian Ambassador to VietnamOry Csaba.
Balazs is founderof the Gyorgy Cziffra Festival. The pianist Cziffra is Balazs’s idol and isconsidered to be one of the greatest pianists of all time. The festival hassince blossomed into one of the most prestigious classical music events inHungary.
Balazs was amember of the jury of the Virtuosos televisionshow which is a Hungarian classical music-based television talent show wherethe Vietnamese opera student Ninh Duc Hoang Long won the first prize in his agerange category.
After the concert,the pianist will hold a master class at the Piano Department at the VNAM.
The concert isheld as one of a wide range cultural activities to celebrate the 70thanniversary of diplomatic relationship between Vietnam and Hungary in2020.-VNS/VNA
