HCM City to host Homeland Spring programme for OVs

The annual “Xuan Que Huong” programme will take place in Ho Chi Minh City on January 20 with a variety of cultural activities to welcome overseas Vietnamese (OVs) back for the Lunar New Year festival.

Hanoi (VNA) – Theannual “Xuan Que Huong” (Homeland Spring) programme will take place in Ho ChiMinh City on January 20 with a variety of cultural activities to welcome overseasVietnamese (OVs) back for the Lunar New Year (Tet) festival.
Co-organised by the StateCommittee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs, the Foreign Ministry and themunicipal authorities, the event will include an incense offering ceremony, carpreleasing and a get-together. 

A highlight of the event will bean art performance live broadcast on the Vietnam Television and Ho Chi MinhCity Television channels, during which, President Tran Dai Quang and manysenior Party and State leaders will extend New Year wishes to OVs.

OVs interested in the programme couldcontact the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs in both Hanoi andHo Chi Minh City, or Vietnamese representative missions abroad, forregistration.

There are approximately 4.5million Vietnamese living and working in 103 countries and territories. Theyform an indispensable part of the nation and play an important role inintensifying friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and the rest of theworld.-VNA

Over 100 burials from 4000 years ago discovered in Hanoi

Archaeologists from the Vietnam Institute of Archaeology, the Hanoi Museum and the Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities have announced the discovery of over 70 graves from the pre-Dong Son period and 40 graves from Dong Son period at the Vuon Chuoi archaeological relic in Kim Chung commune, Hoai Duc district.

Festival promotes Vietnam-RoK cultural exchange

A cultural festival has been held in Uijeongbu city of the Republic of Korea (RoK)'s Gyeonggi province to mark the 10th anniversary of the Vietnam Women’s Association (VWA) in the country.

Hanoi Ao dai dance marks Vietnamese women’s day
