Hanoi (VNA) – The annual “Xuan Que huong” (Homeland Spring) programme, a run-up to the Lunar New Year festival, will take place in Hanoi on January 31 with various cultural activities for overseas Vietnamese (OVs).
Co-hosted by the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs, the Foreign Ministry and the municipal People’s Committee, the programme will feature a flower festival at the ancient Thang Long royal citadel, a tour of Hanoi craft villages, an incense offering and carp release ceremony in traditional rituals.
A highlight of the event is a televised music show on the night of the same day, during which President Truong Tan Sang will extend New Year wishes to the OVs.
