HCM City to host first fashion, technology festival

The first Fashionology Festival 2017 is scheduled to take place in Ho Chi Minh City on October 20-22 with the participation of nearly 500,000 visitors.

HCM City (VNA) – The first FashionologyFestival 2017 is scheduled to take place in Ho Chi Minh City on October 20-22with the participation of nearly 500,000 visitors.

The first-ever event will be jointly organisedby the municipal Department of Tourism and the Golden Communication Group.

At a press conference in the city on July 11,the organising board said the Fashionology Festival 2017 is a modern culturaland tourism event that combines fashion and technology.

During the three-day festival, visitors couldenjoy special fashion collections and music performances.

The Nguyen Hue walking street will be designedas a big catwalk for over 300 professional models at home and abroad.

About 100 domestic garment-textile businessesare expected to participate in the festival, which will also showcase thelatest global fashion items in the world.

The organising board will coordinate with themunicipal Department of Industry and Trade to launch shopping programmes forcustomers with preferential prices, said Director General of the GoldenCommunication Group Nguyen Minh Huong.

Director of the municipal Department of Tourism Bui Ta Hoang Vu said he hopesthe festival will become an annual tourism event, contributing to luring moredomestic and foreign tourists to the city. -VNA

Over 100 burials from 4000 years ago discovered in Hanoi

Archaeologists from the Vietnam Institute of Archaeology, the Hanoi Museum and the Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities have announced the discovery of over 70 graves from the pre-Dong Son period and 40 graves from Dong Son period at the Vuon Chuoi archaeological relic in Kim Chung commune, Hoai Duc district.

Festival promotes Vietnam-RoK cultural exchange

Hanoi Ao dai dance marks Vietnamese women’s day

More than 70,000 women from across the capital city of Hanoi dressed up in Ao dai (traditional long dress) and participated in a folk dance ensemble on October 20 to mark the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Hanoi and the 94th founding anniversary of the Vietnam Women’s Union.
