Exhibition 'Remembering Uncle Ho' kicks off in Hanoi

A range of artworks by 39 painters and sculptors featuring President Ho Chi Minh by prominent Vietnamese artists are on display at an exhibition that opened in Hanoi on August 30.

Hanoi (VNA) – A rangeof artworks featuring President Ho Chi Minh by 39 prominent Vietnamese painters and sculptors are being displayed at an exhibition that openedin Hanoi on August 30.

Theexhibition 'Remembering Uncle Ho' honours the life and career of the greatleader to mark 50 years of implementing his testament (1969-2019) and tocelebrate the country’s 74th National Day (September 2).

Theexhibition consists of 50 artworks in different genres including paintings,graphics, sculptures and posters in a wide variety of media such as oil oncanvas, lacquer, woodcuts, gouaches, water colours and silk.

“PresidentHo Chi Minh’s personality and morality have always been a shining example forall Vietnamese people and are an everlasting source of inspiration for manygenerations of painters, sculptors and graphic artists,” said Nguyen Anh Minh,director of the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum.

“Throughthe exhibition, visitors can understand the compassionate love and care ofUncle Ho to people from all walks of life, from brave soldiers at the front tohard-working farmers, ethnic minority people and children,” said Minh.

“Theseworks also vividly reflect the heartfelt love and boundless respect of theartists for Uncle Ho.

“We hopethe exhibition will provide visitors a sense of profound feeling andappreciation of the greatness of Uncle Ho as well as his ideology, morality andlifestyle,” Minh added.

Tran KhanhChuong, Chairman of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association, said he was moved whenviewing the artworks.

“Theworks express the gratitude and love of the artists for the President and spreadthe greatness of the leader,” he said.

Theexhibition will run until September 6 at the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum, 66 NguyenThai Hoc Street, Hanoi.-VNA

Over 100 burials from 4000 years ago discovered in Hanoi

Festival promotes Vietnam-RoK cultural exchange
