The conference in Hanoi willreview the outcomes of the cultural and human development in Vietnam over 35years since the “Doi moi” (Renewal) period began, based on which culture-relatedorientations and focal tasks for 2021 - 2026 with a vision to 2045 will beidentified.
Hung told the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) that 2021is the 75th year since the first National Culture Conference was heldon November 24, 1946. Therefore, this year’s event holds historic significance,which is upholding the spirit of the first conference chaired by then PresidentHo Chi Minh and inspiring the entire people’s aspiration for fast andsustainable national development.
The National Culture Conference2021 is a step to implement the culture-related content in the Resolution ofthe 13th National Party Congress. It also illustrates the Party,Government, and National Assembly’s great attention to culture, he noted.
The conference will takeplace at the Dien Hong Hall of the National Assembly’s headquarters in Hanoiwith the presence of nearly 600 delegates, including Party and State leaders,officials, artists, and representatives of socio-political organisations. Itwill also be connected with 63 provinces and cities nationwide viavideoconference.
The minister said the eventwill re-systematise the Party’s viewpoints and President Ho Chi Minh’s thoughtabout culture, base on the Party’s guidelines to gain an insight into culture-relatedachievements as well as shortcomings over 35 years of reform, and specifyorientations and tasks for the time ahead so as to develop the culture andpeople of Vietnam and inspire the aspiration for a powerful nation.
The conference is expected tohelp the entire Party, people, and army have a better and more comprehensiveunderstanding of the Party’s guidelines and viewpoints on culture to practiceculture properly and build an advanced culture deeply imbued with nationalidentity, according to Hung./.
