Hanoi (VNA) – The 21st Vietnam Film Festival will take place inthe southern coastal province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau from November 23-27, with awide range of activities, according to the Ministry of Culture, Sports andTourism.
Theopening and closing ceremonies of the festival will be broadcast live on nationaland provincial television channels.
Withinthe framework of the festival, there will be workshops on improving Vietnam’scinematographic works amidst international integration and filming locations inVietnam, along with exchanges between actors, actresses and their fans.
Otherevents include film weeks in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, and an exhibition onnational sea and islands.
Ofnote, local cinemas will offer free screenings of new Vietnamese movies duringthe festival.
Atthe closing ceremony on November 27, the organising board will present Goldenand Silver Lotus awards to the best films in several categories, as well asawards to the most outstanding directors, screenwriters and main actors andactresses.
Thefestival is expected to bring together 1,600 guests.
The20th Vietnam Film Festival was held in the central city of Da Nanglast year with the participation of 77 movies. The film “Em Chua 18” (Jailbait), directed by Le Thanh Son,won the golden lotus prize for the best feature film.-VNA
