Hanoi (VNA) – A week of freescreenings was launched at the National Cinema Centre in Hanoi on November 8 towelcome the 20th Vietnam Film Festival, slated for later this month.
The week was opened with the free screeningof “Sai Gon, I Love You”, a 90-minutecomedy by Director Ly Minh Thang featuring five couples from different placesand backgrounds who choose Sai Gon (HCM City) as their home. The movie tells the stories of their lovesand lives with the culture and lifestyle of the Saigonese throughout.
It won the best feature film, bestscreenplay and best cinematography at the Golden Kite Award this year.
Twenty-seven other movies will also be screened during the week, including “12 Chom Sao: Ve Duong Cho Yeu Chay” (12 Zodiac: Five Steps ofLove), “Dao Cua Dan Ngu Cu” (The Way Station), “Co HauGai” (The House Maid), “VeSi Sai Gon” (Sai Gon Bodyguard), “CoBa Sai Gon” (Miss Sai Gon).
All the filmswill be screened in Vietnamese with English subtitles at the National CinemaCentre, at 87 Lang Ha, Hanoi, and Cinestar Cinema, 135 Hai Ba Trung Street, HCMCity.
The 20thVietnam Film Festival will be held in the central coastal city of Da Nang fromNovember 24-28. The event will feature seminars featuring the development ofthe Vietnam and ASEAN film industry, film screenings, an exhibition onVietnamese cinema, and art exchanges.-VNA
