A/W fashion week to feature combination of silk, embroidery

The Vietnam Fashion Week Autumn-Winter 2019 will take place from March 22-24 at Hanoi Bach Thao (Botanical) Park, featuring 15 collections by 14 designers from Hanoi, Thua Thien-Hue, and Ho Chi Minh City.

Hanoi (VNA) – TheVietnam Fashion Week Autumn-Winter 2019 will take place from March 22-24 atHanoi Bach Thao (Botanical) Park, featuring 15 collections by 14 designers fromHanoi, Thua Thien-Hue, and Ho Chi Minh City.

At a press conference to introducethe event on March 21, designer Minh Hanh from the organising board said that thisyear, the designers will highlight the combination of silk and traditionalembroidery in their designs.

Modern technologies in fashion,such as 3D printing and embroidery, will be used in many of the designs, shesaid.

Designer Minh Hanh will introducea collection in royal style using silk and brocade.

This year, the event will be supportedby the Embassies of Columbia and Turkey in Vietnam with the participation offamous designers Mehmet Koymen from Turkey and Duque from Columbia.–VNA

Over 100 burials from 4000 years ago discovered in Hanoi

Archaeologists from the Vietnam Institute of Archaeology, the Hanoi Museum and the Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities have announced the discovery of over 70 graves from the pre-Dong Son period and 40 graves from Dong Son period at the Vuon Chuoi archaeological relic in Kim Chung commune, Hoai Duc district.

Festival promotes Vietnam-RoK cultural exchange

Hanoi Ao dai dance marks Vietnamese women’s day

More than 70,000 women from across the capital city of Hanoi dressed up in Ao dai (traditional long dress) and participated in a folk dance ensemble on October 20 to mark the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Hanoi and the 94th founding anniversary of the Vietnam Women’s Union.
