Website on Hanoi launches Japanese version

The Thang Long-Hanoi website of the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) officially launched its Japanese language version on August 3.

Thewebsite now has information in five languages - Vietnamese, English,French, Spanish and Japanese, just four months after inauguration.

Theversion, available at http://jp.hanoi.vietnamplus.vn will providedetails of activities to mark the 1,000 th anniversary of ThangLong-Hanoi as well as information about Hanoi .

It will also include useful information on Vietnam for Japanese readers.

AsJapanese people love Hanoi and want to learn more about the capitalcity of Vietnam , a website in the Japanese language is the mosteffective way to bring them to Hanoi , Japanese Ambassador SakabaMitsuo said at the function.

He also spoke highly of the efforts of VNA and VietnamPlus, VNA’s e-newspaper, in building the website.

Chairmanof the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen The Thao said he believed themultilingual website would make a difference, helping to enrich forms ofinformation access on Thang Long-Hanoi and attract more readers to thesite.

According to VNA Vice General Director Ha Minh Hue,despite difficulties with a Japanese language editor shortage, theagency has worked hard to launch the site, considering it an initialstep for future media products in the Japanese language.

Over 100 burials from 4000 years ago discovered in Hanoi

Archaeologists from the Vietnam Institute of Archaeology, the Hanoi Museum and the Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities have announced the discovery of over 70 graves from the pre-Dong Son period and 40 graves from Dong Son period at the Vuon Chuoi archaeological relic in Kim Chung commune, Hoai Duc district.

Festival promotes Vietnam-RoK cultural exchange

A cultural festival has been held in Uijeongbu city of the Republic of Korea (RoK)'s Gyeonggi province to mark the 10th anniversary of the Vietnam Women’s Association (VWA) in the country.

Hanoi Ao dai dance marks Vietnamese women’s day

More than 70,000 women from across the capital city of Hanoi dressed up in Ao dai (traditional long dress) and participated in a folk dance ensemble on October 20 to mark the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Hanoi and the 94th founding anniversary of the Vietnam Women’s Union.

Vietnam attends UNESCO Executive Board’s 220th session in France
