VN’s female football team in Group A of Olympic 2020 Asian qualifiers

The Vietnamese women’s football team have been placed in Group A in the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament Tokyo 2020 Asian qualifying round.

Hanoi (VNA) - The Vietnamesewomen’s football team have been placed in Group A in the Women’s OlympicFootball Tournament Tokyo 2020 Asian qualifying round alongside the arch rivalsthe Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), the Republic of Korea (RoK) andMyanmar.

Group B consists of Australia,China, Thailand, and Chinese Taipei.

Group A’s matches are scheduled totake place in Jeju, the RoK, while Group B’s games will be held in China.

The final round of the qualifiers will get underway between February 3 andFebruary 9, 2020.

The two leading teams from eachgroup will progress to the next round, while the two winning teams and Japanwill ultimately go on to represent Asia in the women’s football at the Tokyo2020 Olympics.

The Vietnamese team have scheduledtwo friendly matches against India in November, before going to Japan to takepart in a training camp ahead of their participation in the Southeast AsianGames in the Philippines./.

Over 100 burials from 4000 years ago discovered in Hanoi

Archaeologists from the Vietnam Institute of Archaeology, the Hanoi Museum and the Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities have announced the discovery of over 70 graves from the pre-Dong Son period and 40 graves from Dong Son period at the Vuon Chuoi archaeological relic in Kim Chung commune, Hoai Duc district.

Festival promotes Vietnam-RoK cultural exchange

A cultural festival has been held in Uijeongbu city of the Republic of Korea (RoK)'s Gyeonggi province to mark the 10th anniversary of the Vietnam Women’s Association (VWA) in the country.

Hanoi Ao dai dance marks Vietnamese women’s day

Vietnam attends UNESCO Executive Board’s 220th session in France
