Among the 28 players, eight come from defending champion PVF team, six players from Viettel and five from Binh Duong.
The team, which will train at Hanoi-based Vietnam Youth Football Centre, will have one month to prepare for the event.
According to the draw, Vietnam are in Group B alongside Myanmar, Timor-Leste, Singapore and Malaysia.
Group A consists of Laos, Thailand, Australia, Brunei, the Philippines and Cambodia.
Vietnam will meet Timor-Leste on the pitch on August 25; Malaysia on August 27; Singapore on August 29; and Myanmar on 31.
The AFF U19 Youth Championship was launched in 2005. Vietnam won the annual event in 2007 when it was the host nation.-VNA
