Under the slogan “Looking towards Asia”, the exhibition is part of the city’s annual Shinju Matsuji cultural festival.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, the city’s mayor Graeme Campbellsaid Broome expects to twin with a Vietnamese city to foster exchanges.
The white marble sculpture “Mermaid on Cable Beach” isconsidered a highlight, and showcases the skills of sculptors from thecentral city of Da Nang.
At the end of the 10-day event, thesculpture will be gifted to Broome city as a symbol of friendshipbetween Vietnam and Australia.-VNA
