Vietnamese players win medals at world chess championship

Vietnamese players won one silver and two bronze medals at the 3rd World Cadets Rapid and Blitz Chess Championship among boys and girls under 8, 10 and 12 years old.

Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnameseplayers won one silver and two bronze medals at the 3rd World Cadets Rapid andBlitz Chess Championship among boys and girls under 8, 10 and 12 years old.

Tong Thai Hoang An and Nguyen MaiChi won the silver medal and bronze medal respectively in the U8 category whileHo Ngoc Vy won the bronze in the U10 category.

The tournament was held in the Palaceof Sport in Minsk, Belarus, from August 16-18, with 635 young chess playersfrom 36 countries competing.

Earlier, seven-year-old An wonthe U8 category of the Asian Youth Chess Championships 2019. In nine matches inthe world championship, she only lost once.-VNA

Over 100 burials from 4000 years ago discovered in Hanoi

Archaeologists from the Vietnam Institute of Archaeology, the Hanoi Museum and the Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities have announced the discovery of over 70 graves from the pre-Dong Son period and 40 graves from Dong Son period at the Vuon Chuoi archaeological relic in Kim Chung commune, Hoai Duc district.

Festival promotes Vietnam-RoK cultural exchange

Hanoi Ao dai dance marks Vietnamese women’s day
