Vietnamese players selected as ASEAN stars

Fox Sport Asia has picked two Vietnamese players as ASEAN stars in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U23 Championship, the final of which will be held in China on January 27.

Hanoi (VNA) - Fox Sport Asia has picked two Vietnamese players as ASEAN stars in theAsian Football Confederation (AFC) U23 Championship, the final of which will beheld in China on January 27.

Midfielder Pham Duc Huy is said to be one of thechief contributors to Vietnam’s run to the semi-final.

Huy may seem to have the thankless job of exertingpressure on the opposition to win the ball back, but he has proven to be tidyin possession and is a constant source of energy.

He may not have the most glamourous job in the teambut has what it takes to be a regular for the Vietnam senior side over the nextdecade in a combative midfield role.

Midfielder Nguyen Quang Hai is the second player. FoxSport Asia said he needed no introduction in Vietnam and soon, none would beneeded in the whole of Southeast Asia and Asia.

Despite being small in stature, the pint-sized forwardis big in talent and heart and will go down as one of the heroes in thetournament, thanks to his goals against the Republic of Korea (RoK) andAustralia.

Hai, 20, is already an international celebrity and hasestablished himself as one of the country’s hottest prospects after learning hisgame at V.League 1 giant Hanoi FC. Three other stars mentioned by Fox Sport areAdam Nor Azlin and Nor Azam Azih from Malaysia and Ratthanakorn Maikami fromThailand.-VNA

Over 100 burials from 4000 years ago discovered in Hanoi

Festival promotes Vietnam-RoK cultural exchange
