Hanoi (VNA) –Nguyen Thanh Khoi will represent Vietnam in the U18 all-star Southeast Asianteam, ASIAN ELEVEN, which will play an U18 all-star team of Japan’s Tohokuregion, said the Japan Foundation Centre for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam onJune 11.
A total of 21 playersfrom U18 teams of 11 Southeast Asian nations will join in ASIAN ELEVEN led byJapanese head coach Takuma Koga.
The internationalfriendly football match JapaFunCup will take place on June 22 in Japan’sFukushima prefecture.
The JapaFunCup will beco-organised by the Japan Foundation Asia Centre and the Japan FootballAssociation. It is part of the "Asiain Resonance 2019", a series of events introducing its various culturalexchange programmes between Japan and Southeast Asia.
Started in 2014, thefootball exchange project ASIAN ELEVEN aims to foster talents in Japan andSoutheast Asia, promoting mutual understanding between the countries throughfootball.
The project has sent 166Japanese coaches to Southeast Asia to train more than 3,000 young footballersin the region.-VNA
