Vietnamese monochord performed at Expo 2020 Dubai

Vietnamese meritorious artist Le Giang had performed the Dan bau (monochord), a Vietnamese traditional musical instrument, along with a Middle Eastern famous traditional band at the Expo 2020 Dubai, according to the Vietnam Pavilion at the event.

Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnamese meritorious artist Le Giang had performed the Dan bau (monochord), a Vietnamese traditional musical instrument, along with a Middle Eastern famous traditional band at the Expo 2020 Dubai, accordingto the Vietnam Pavilion at the event.

The show took place on the evening of October 12 on thelargest outdoor stage of the Expo 2020 Dubai complex. It was part of JalsatNights - oneof the top art shows at the event.  The Dan bau was the only musical instrument that was invited to be present at Jalsat Nights.

Jalsat Nights is a music series held monthly from October 2021 to March 2022within the framework of Expo 2020 Dubai. It received special attention from the media and people of the Gulf countries.

The organisers had an ambitious plan to not onlyshowcase a part of the musical heritage of the United ArabianEmirates, but also give viewers a uniqueexperience by introducing traditional instruments from several countries aroundthe world.

As one of the world's largest non-commercial exhibition events, EXPO 2020 Dubaitook place in the Middle East for the first time, attracting the participationof more than 190 countries and international organisations.

The Vietnam Pavilion at the Expo 2020 Dubai complex openedon October 1, creating a great impression on international visitors.

Choosing the main theme ‘Distilling the Past, Shaping the Future’, the VietnamPavilion shows creativity in the interior, art displays, model installationscombined with technology interaction along with an attractive culinary spaceand special art performances, promising to promote the beauty, potential,and development opportunities of the country.

Vietnam Day, slated for December 30, 2021,  is considered the most highlight event ofVietnam at Expo 2020 Dubai with the participation of senior leaders from thecountry./.
