The FIDE Master triumphed in the World Youth Mind Sports Fair blitz and rapid events in the U14 open categories.
Khoi bagged six points in the blitz pool and 5.5 points in the rapid class.
Earlier, in the Asian Youth Chess Championships, he came second with seven points after nine matches, which was only 0.5 point less than the winner, Iran's GM Gholami Arian's points.
His teammate Tan Huynh Thanh Truc also won in the girls' U12 division.
Truc earned 6.5 points from nine games to top the group of 27 masters.
Vietnamese players also won medals in different categories.
Nguyen Le Cam Hien bagged a silver medal in the U8 standard chess competition.
Nguyen Minh Thang came third in the U18 open standard chess event.
Tran Minh Tuan won two silver medals in the blitz and rapid chess events of the U18 open pool.
Doan Thi Hong Nhung was placed third in the U8 girls' blitz chess event.
Dong Khanh Linh claimed a bronze medal in the U16 girls' blitz chess event.
Bach Ngọc Thuy Duong and Nguyen Thien Ngan were placed second in the girls' U12 and U10 rapid chess events, respectively.-VNA
