HCM City (VNA) – Vietnamese, French and Belgian artists will perform in ajoint dance performance called “Urban distortions” in Ho Chi Minh City onOctober 14.
The event forms part of the festival “Europemeets Asia in Contemporary Dance”, which is taking place in the city fromSeptember 21 to October 14.
At a press conference on October 6, FrenchConsul General in HCM City Vincent Floreani said the special performance is hopedto help local residents understand better about the cultures of other countriesand contribute to strengthening art and culture relations among nations.
The “Urban distortion” piece is inspired by theglobal phenomenon of migration and raises questions such as: What is habitat,with whom do we share it? How do we perceive strangers and culturaldifferences?
The “Europemeets Asia” festival is an initiative of the European Union National Institutesfor Culture (EUNIC), held in collaboration with the Vietnam National Opera andBallet, and the Goethe Institute.
It aims topromote the art of contemporary dance in Vietnam and boost cultural exchangesbetween local and international artists.-VNA
