Cairo (VNA) - Documents,books and photos on Vietnamese culture, history, landscapes and handicraft wereintroduced at an event in Egyptian Ismailia province on April 2.
The event was organisedby the Vietnamese Embassy in Egypt and attended by Ismailia provincegovernor Yassin Taher, Director of the Egyptian Public Library Development FundReda El-Taify and local visitors.
The event is part ofactivities to mark the 55th anniversary of Vietnam – Egypt diplomatic ties.
During the occasion,the Embassy of Vietnam also launched a reading room named “A Window to Vietnam” atthe Ismailia Public Library to facilitate access to information on Vietnam.
Visitors could alsoenjoy a dance with conical hats performed by Vietnamese students in Egypt andVietnamese traditional food and coffee.
Vietnamese Ambassadorto Egypt Do Hoang Long highlighted the economic potential of the Egyptianprovince, particularly in agriculture.
He voiced his hope thatsimilar events will be held in other Egyptian provinces, thus providing moreinformation on Vietnamese culture for Egyptian people.
The same day, theVietnamese diplomat had a working session with Ismailia province governorYassin Taher on cooperation between the province and Vietnamese localities.
He detailed Vietnam’ssocio-economic situation and highlighted the cooperation potential between thetwo nations.
For his part, Tahersuggested the two sides promote links between Ismailia province and Vietnameselocalities, particularly in trade, investment and agriculture.-VNA
