Ata May 12 ceremony to begin Vietnamese Culture Day in the province’scity of the same name, Vietnamese Ambassador Pham Xuan Son said he hopesthe event will allow people to discover more about the country’s landand culture, while boosting cooperation between the citizens of the twonations.
In response, Aleksey Konushev, a Deputy Governor ofVladimir province, expressed his belief that bilateral relations willcontinue to flourish, benefiting both Russia and Vietnam.
TheCulture Day began with a unicorn dance performance and a parade showingoff Vietnam’s traditional ao dai long dress in front of Vladimircity’s central theatre. Joining the event, local visitors had achance to enjoy Vietnam’s folk songs and dances. They also got towitness famous songs from the Soviet Union era being revitalised throughthe voice of Vietnamese artists.
On this occasion, Vietnamesepeople collected hundreds of signatures for an open letter expressingsupport for the country’s peaceful measures to solve East Sea disputes,after China illegally positioned an oil rig in Vietnam’s continentalshelf and exclusive economic zone.
The letter also called on China to respect international law and Vietnam’s maritime territory.-VNA
