Bangkok (VNA) – The Vietnamese Embassy in Thailand onOctober 9 night held a culinary festival to celebrate the 74th anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day (September 2).
Representatives of Thai ministries and agencies, and about 500 Vietnamese inThailand joined the event.
In his opening remarks, Ambassador Nguyen Hai Bang highlighted Vietnam’s firmand stable economic development as well as the strategic partnership betweenVietnam and Thailand – two members of the Association of Southeast AsianNations (ASEAN).
Two-way trade has been expanded over the past years and is expected to reach 20billion USD in 2020 as set by the two Governments, he said, adding that manybig Thai groups are operating successfully in Vietnam.
The festival featured ten booths displaying traditional Vietnamese dishes like“pho” (noodle soup), “bun cha” (vermicelli withgrilled pork andfresh herbs) and “nem” (spring roll), along with different types of beverages.
Festival-goers also had a chance to enjoy art performances staged by Vietnameseartists./.
