Vietnamese badminton players secure Olympic berths

Two Vietnamese badminton players Nguyen Tien Minh and Nguyen Thuy Linh have won berths to the Tokyo Olympic Games, the Badminton World Federation (BWF) announced on June 7.

Hanoi (VNA) – TwoVietnamese badminton players Nguyen Tien Minh and Nguyen Thuy Linh have wonberths to the Tokyo Olympic Games, the Badminton World Federation (BWF)announced on June 7.

They will compete atthe men’s and women’s singles at the global sporting event, which comprise of38 players each.

According to therankings of players eligible for the Games, Minh is placed 32th while Linhstands at the 25th spot.

To date, Vietnam hassecured 10 Olympic berths in swimming, boxing, gymnastics, archery, rowing, taekwondo,and badminton.

The Tokyo Games, whichwas delayed for one year because of the COVID-19 pandemic, is scheduled to takeplace from July 23 to August 8, with a total of 339 sets of medals across 33sports./.

Over 100 burials from 4000 years ago discovered in Hanoi

Festival promotes Vietnam-RoK cultural exchange

Hanoi Ao dai dance marks Vietnamese women’s day

Vietnam attends UNESCO Executive Board’s 220th session in France
