The HCM City native then joined Kevin Lam from Hong Kong in the men'sdoubles to defeat Hong Kong residents Wong Hun Hun and Yeung Pal Long2-1 (6-2, 4-6, 11-9) in the final.
The wins added 12.5points to Thien's score to take him to 135th place from 145th place inthe International Tennis Federation rankings.
Thien is thefirst Vietnamese player to be admitted to the Australian Open TennisTournament for U-18 players. He will leave for Japan to compete inthe ITF's U-18 event on October 17.
In February, Thien wonthe doubles title at the Malacca International Junior Championship forunder-18 players in Kuala Lumpur and another at the Tennis Central 18and under ITF Summer Championship in New Zealand .
