Berlin (VNA)- An ongoing exhibition entitled “Treasures of Vietnam Archaeology” at the StateMuseum of Archaeology in Germany’s Sachsen state has been attracting a largenumber of visitors.
The exhibition, which runs through August 20, isone of events sponsored by German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, tocelebrate the 5th founding anniversary of the Vietnam-Germany strategicpartnership.
As many as 400 historical artefacts classifiedinto three categories: Prehistory, My Son Sanctuary (a temple complex incentral Vietnam) and Thang Long Imperial Citadel in Hanoi are being displayedat the exhibition.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, director ofthe municipal museum Sabine Wolfram said the exhibition was a great opportunityfor Germans and overseas Vietnamese in Germany to gain an insight intoVietnam’s tradition and history.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Germany Doan Xuan Hungintroduced customs and history of Vietnam to visitors, while affirming thetraditional relationship and friendship between Vietnam and Germany.
Before being showcased in Chemnitz, these artefactswere displayed at the LWL Museum of Archaeology in Herne city from October 7,2016 to February 26, 2017, drawing more than 50,000 visitors.
After Chemnitz, theywill be exhibited in Baden-Wurttemberg state from September 16, 2017 to January7, 2018.-VNA
