The meeting was part of the “Week of Activities on Vietnam ” heldbetween Nov. 16-30 by the Lichtenberg Culture Association incoordination with the Lichtenberg/Brandenburg Overseas VietnameseAssociation to mark 35 th anniversary of the Vietnam-Germany diplomaticrelations.
Lichtenberg Governor Chritina Emmrich and several German officials and friends attended the event.
Addressing the meeting, First Secretary of the Vietnamese Embassy inGermany Pham Van Toan hailed the event, describing it as an opportunityfor Vietnamese alumni and students, who are studying in Germany , toshare experiences in studying and living abroad.
Vietnamese Counsellor to Germany Nguyen Minh Vu thanked Lichtenbergauthorities for creating favourable conditions for overseas Vietnameseliving in the district to integrate well in the local community.
Participants to the meeting agreed that Vietnamese students in Germanyserve as key factor for relations between Vietnamese community andlocal authorities as well as activities of other fields.
