Vietnam U19s to play friendlies in Qatar

Vietnam’s U19 team will take part in a friendly tournament from September 16-23 in Qatar with Uruguay, the Ivory Coast and the hosts, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) has announced.

Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnam’s U19 team will take part in a friendlytournament from September 16-23 in Qatar with Uruguay, the Ivory Coast and thehosts, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) has announced.

The event is a warm up for thenational team before they fly to Indonesia to take part in the 2018 AFC U19Championship finals, according to the VFF’s vice president, Tran Quoc Tuan.

The AFC event will run from October18 to November 4, drawing the participation of 16 teams. Vietnam are in Group Cwith Australia, the Republic of Korea and Jordan.

The top four teams of the tournamentwill qualify for the 2019 FIFA U20 World Cup scheduled to take place in Polandnext year.

In 2016, under head coach Hoang AnhTuan, Vietnam progressed to the semi-final of the AFC U19 Championship and wona ticket to compete at the FIFA U20 World Cup.

The U19 team will convene on August15 and will have a training session in Japan before leaving for Qatar. -VNA

Over 100 burials from 4000 years ago discovered in Hanoi

Festival promotes Vietnam-RoK cultural exchange

A cultural festival has been held in Uijeongbu city of the Republic of Korea (RoK)'s Gyeonggi province to mark the 10th anniversary of the Vietnam Women’s Association (VWA) in the country.

Hanoi Ao dai dance marks Vietnamese women’s day
