Van took the public voting title for his photo named “Sand Story 4” inthe environment category.
In addition, Van’s “The Lines” was voted second by the public in theopen event at the competition, which was organised by the CyprusPhotographic Society.
“Sand Story 4” had earlier brought home a second prize in theenvironment event of the Chartered Institution of Water andEnvironmental Management (CIWEM)’s photo contest.
Another Vietnamese photographer, Nguyen Xuan Thanh also secured afirst prize for his photo named “Werewolf” in the public voting’s opencategory of the Cyprus competition.
The competition drew 7,407 entries from 114 countries and territoriesacross the world.
Most of the top prizes awarded by the International Panel of Judgeswent to photographers from Slovenia , the US , India and Myanmar .
The most outstanding photos will be displayed at the Nicosia CulturalCentre as of May 18./.
