Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnam have won 13 gold,14 silver and five bronze medals, ranking second at the Southeast Asia (SEA)Junior Athletics Championships at Thammasat University in Bangkok, Thailand.
They also broke six SEA junior records in thewomen’s 800m, men’s 2,000m hurdles, men’s 1,500m and 3,000m, men’s 800m andwomen’s 1,500m.
Vietnam also had three best players at the eventincluding Le Tien Long, who won three gold medals and broke three SEA records, DoanThu Hang, who picked up two gold medals and broke two records, and Ngo Thi KhanhNy with two golds and two records.
Thailand topped the medal tally with 15 golds,seven silvers and 11 bronzes. Malaysia came third with six golds, two silversand three bronzes.
The tournament attracted athletes born between2001 and 2003 from 10 Southeast Asian countries. They competed in 19 men’s andwomen’s categories each.
