Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnam Television Corporation (VTC), a subordinate unit ofthe Radio Voice of Vietnam (VOV), on August 21 announced that it has earned theright to broadcast all sporting events within the Asian Games (ASIAD) 2018.
Thedeal with KJSM World Corp was reached with the support of property developer Vingroup and ViettelMilitary Industry and Telecoms Group.
FromAugust 22, Vietnamese audiences can watch all games of Vietnam during the ASIAD2018 live on VTC channels, or smart phones and smart TV through the firm’s appVTC Now, or at its online newspapers at vov.vn and vtc.vn.
Theycan also listen to live narration of all sporting events on VOV radio channels.
OnAugust 20, VOV started the process of purchasing ASIAD broadcasting rights.However, the company owning the rights in Vietnam is located in the US, makingit difficult for the two sides to conduct direct discussions until the afternoonof August 20.
Thedeal between the two sides was signed and announced in Jakarta, Indonesia, onAugust 21 after successful negotiations on August 20 evening.
TheASIAD 2018 has entered the third competing day on August 21. So far, Vietnamhas ranks 16th in the medal tally with two silver and four bronzemedals.
Notably,Vietnam’s male football team qualified for the next round after gaining allgroup matches.-VNA
