Da Nang (VNA) – The 6th Vietnam-Japan Culture ExchangeFestival kicked off in the central city of Da Nang on July 25 evening, offeringcultural performances, cuisine, traditional art demonstrations, games andseminars on tourism and human resources development between Japan and Da Nang.
JapaneseAmbassador to Vietnam Umeda Kunio, representatives of the Japanese business associationin Da Nang and leaders of Japanese cities such as Sakai, Kisarazu, Minasaka andKawasaki attended the opening ceremony.
The annual event, which has been held since 2014, opened to the public with 60pavilions at the Dragon Bridge Park, displaying information on tourism,education, traditional cuisine and shopping.
Two seminars on tourism promotion and human resources training cooperationamong Japanese and Vietnamese travel agencies and universities were organised onthe same day with the participation of 150 businesses and diplomats.
A Japanese tea-making exchange will take place among representatives from Da Nangand Sakai city at the Japanese-invested Gran Vrio Da Nang on July 26.
At the event, Da Nang and Kisarazu will sign a memorandum of understanding onmulti-field cooperation between the two cities.
The Kawasaki Frontales junior football team will play two friendly matches withlocal teams at Chi Lang Stadium on July 27-28.
Artists from Japan and Vietnam will also stage traditional joint-performancesand demonstrations of Yosakoi, flashmob, cosplay and Ikebana flower art overthree nights from July 26-28.
The annual event helps promote tourism and culture for local and Japaneseartists and businesses. Japanese tourists were the second largest groupvisiting Da Nang last year, with more than 400,000 visiting the city. Localairlines operate direct routes from Da Nang to Osaka, Narita and Tokyo.-VNA
