A Vietnam-Japan Cultural Festival opened in the central beach city of Da Nang on March 29, as part of celebrations of the 51st anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries (1973-2024).

DaNang (VNA) – A Vietnam-Japan Cultural Festival opened in thecentral beach city of Da Nang on March 29, as part of celebrations of the 51st anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries (1973-2024).

Thefestival, held annually by Dong A University featured impressive performancesof artists from Japan and local students. Besides, event-goers also had achance to take part in folk games of the two countries such as bamboo dance, Mandarin square capturing, and sodoku, amongothers.

Besides, the event also reenacted Japanese Nagashi Somen festival. A flashmob dance with the participation of 50teams, a cosplay performance and booths presenting Vietnam and Japanese culinaryculture were also held.

Speakingat the ceremony, Japanese Deputy Consul General in Da Nang Shimonishi Kiyoshi said thefestival can help local students enhance their Japanese language proficiency. He also expressed his hope that Japanese language learners willbecome a bridge to strengthen the bonds between Japan and Vietnam inthe future.

Luong Minh Sam, Chairman of Board of Directors of Dong AUniversity said he hopes the annual festival will become an internationalexchange channel, creating a playground for the locals to have a betterunderstanding about Japan and its people, contributing to effectively intensifyingthe two countries’ friendship and cooperative relations./.

Over 100 burials from 4000 years ago discovered in Hanoi

Archaeologists from the Vietnam Institute of Archaeology, the Hanoi Museum and the Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities have announced the discovery of over 70 graves from the pre-Dong Son period and 40 graves from Dong Son period at the Vuon Chuoi archaeological relic in Kim Chung commune, Hoai Duc district.

Festival promotes Vietnam-RoK cultural exchange

A cultural festival has been held in Uijeongbu city of the Republic of Korea (RoK)'s Gyeonggi province to mark the 10th anniversary of the Vietnam Women’s Association (VWA) in the country.

Hanoi Ao dai dance marks Vietnamese women’s day

More than 70,000 women from across the capital city of Hanoi dressed up in Ao dai (traditional long dress) and participated in a folk dance ensemble on October 20 to mark the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Hanoi and the 94th founding anniversary of the Vietnam Women’s Union.

Vietnam attends UNESCO Executive Board’s 220th session in France
