The film is directed by Kabuki Omoriand Tat Binh and has Japanese renowned actress Keiko Matsuzaka to playthe starring role. Its scenes will be shot in the capital Hanoi, and thenorthern provinces of Hoa Binh and Ninh Binh, Vietnam.
Based on an autobiographical novel by Miyuki Komatsu, the story isabout a Japanese teacher Shaso Misao and her 82-year-old mother.
Shaso Misao, 60, had come to Vietnam to teach Japanese, but could notstop thinking about her mother, who has dementia, living alone inJapan. She has convinced her mother, Sasho Shizue, to live with her inHanoi.
They together found a whole new life inthe heart of the Hanoi Old Quarter in front of the Cheo Theatre, wherelocal traditional musicals are performed.
