Vietnam into 2nd round of Davis Cup

Hanoi (VNA) - Nguyen Hoang Thien defeated Aditya Hari Sasongko of Indonesia in the men’s singles match of the first round of the Davis Cup in Indonesia on March 6.

Thien crushed Sasongko 3-6, 6-2, 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 in three hours and 35 minutes.

In the other men’s singles matches, Ly Hoang Nam lost to Christopher Rungkat 4-6, 1-6, and then Nam withdrew from the third set due to his fatigue.

Thien and Nam bested Rungkat and Sunu Wahyu Trijati 3-1 in the men’s doubles match on March 5, which lasted 12 hours due to poor weather.

Also on March 4, Pham Minh Tuan lost to Rungkat 0-3, while Nam defeated David Agung Susanto 3-0.

Vietnam defeated Indonesia 3-2 to enter the event’s second round.-VNA

Over 100 burials from 4000 years ago discovered in Hanoi

Hanoi Ao dai dance marks Vietnamese women’s day
