Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnam will compete with Iran, India and the Philippines in the 2017 AFC U19 Women’s Championship, according to the official draw of the Asian Football Confederation in the Malaysian capital on May 19.
Vietnam will compete in Group D of the 2017 AFC U16 Women’s Championship, with Uzbekistan, Australia, Hong Kong, Palestine and Iraq.
Australia, Jordan, Lebanon, Singapore and the Northern Mariana Islands are in Group A. Group B includes Uzbekistan, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, Tajikistan and Pakistan. Group C consists of Thailand, Myanmar, Palestine and Kyrgyzstan.
The winner from each group will qualify to compete in the finals, alongside the top four teams of the 2015 AFC U-19 Women’s Championship, who directly qualified for the finals: Japan, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, the Republic of Korea and China.
The U19 qualifying games will be held from October 29 to November 6.
There are 24 teams playing in the qualifying games, divided into four groups of six teams. Each group will play a one-round league in a centralised venue.
The U16 qualifying games will be held from August 27 to September 4.-VNA
