Hanoi (VNA) - The winners of the 2018 Vietnam Heritage Photo Awardswere honoured at an awards ceremony held in Hanoi on October 25.

The photo ‘Huong Tet’ (Tet Flavour) by Le Viet Khanh and photo series ‘Le WaHa’ (Wa Ha Festival) by Hoang Thach Van won the special prizes for cover photoand collection photo categories, respectively.

With a fully constructed layout, the work ‘Huong Tet’ highlighted thetraditional features of Vietnamese Tet (Lunar New Year Festival); meanwhile theseries ‘Le Wa Ha’ reproduced a traditional festival of Cham Bani people in theSouth-Central region.

This year’s contest attracted 194 photo collections and 532 single coverphotos.

The most outstanding works, including nine collections and ten covers, as wellas 30 photos created during three photo tours under the framework of the 2018contest, are being displayed at an exhibition from October 25 - 31.

The annual event aims to call on people to preserve and promote cultural andnatural heritages in Vietnam, particularly world heritages. - VNA

Over 100 burials from 4000 years ago discovered in Hanoi

Archaeologists from the Vietnam Institute of Archaeology, the Hanoi Museum and the Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities have announced the discovery of over 70 graves from the pre-Dong Son period and 40 graves from Dong Son period at the Vuon Chuoi archaeological relic in Kim Chung commune, Hoai Duc district.

Festival promotes Vietnam-RoK cultural exchange

A cultural festival has been held in Uijeongbu city of the Republic of Korea (RoK)'s Gyeonggi province to mark the 10th anniversary of the Vietnam Women’s Association (VWA) in the country.

Hanoi Ao dai dance marks Vietnamese women’s day

More than 70,000 women from across the capital city of Hanoi dressed up in Ao dai (traditional long dress) and participated in a folk dance ensemble on October 20 to mark the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Hanoi and the 94th founding anniversary of the Vietnam Women’s Union.

Vietnam attends UNESCO Executive Board’s 220th session in France
