Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnam beat Timor Leste 16-0 in the second match ofGroup A of the AFF U15 Girls’ Championship 2019 held in Chonburi, Thailand onMay 12.

Earlier, the Vietnamese side also bested the Philippines 2-0 in the firstmatch.

Vietnam dominated the game from the opening whistle. In the first minute, Nhat Lanscored the opener for Vietnam. At the end of the first half, Vietnam were ahead10-0.

After the break, Vietnam scored six more goals.

With two wins, Vietnam topped Group A. They will take on Myanmar in the lastqualifying match on May 14.

Vietnam are pooled with Timor-Leste, Myanmar and the Philippines in Group A ofthe regional youth competition while Cambodia, Singapore, Malaysia, Laos andhosts Thailand are in Group B.

The semi-finals of the championship are scheduled to be held on May 19 whilethe final is slated for May 21. Thailand are the defending champions. - VNA

Over 100 burials from 4000 years ago discovered in Hanoi

Archaeologists from the Vietnam Institute of Archaeology, the Hanoi Museum and the Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities have announced the discovery of over 70 graves from the pre-Dong Son period and 40 graves from Dong Son period at the Vuon Chuoi archaeological relic in Kim Chung commune, Hoai Duc district.

Festival promotes Vietnam-RoK cultural exchange

A cultural festival has been held in Uijeongbu city of the Republic of Korea (RoK)'s Gyeonggi province to mark the 10th anniversary of the Vietnam Women’s Association (VWA) in the country.

Hanoi Ao dai dance marks Vietnamese women’s day

Vietnam attends UNESCO Executive Board’s 220th session in France
