Vietnam Airlines warns flyers of social-media free ticket scam. (Photo: VNA)Hanoi (VNA) – National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines warnedcustomers of a scam on social media that entices them to participate in theairline’s survey and get two free tickets in return.
Recently, a malware website that links to http://vietnamair-flyer.club/ promises to give away two Vietnam Airlines’ tickets when customers participatein a survey and share personal information using social network accounts,Vietnam Airlines said in a statement.
“Congratulations!You have been selected to take part in our short survey to get 2 Free VietnamAirlines Tickets! We only have 332 tickets remaining so hurry!”, the fakemessage reads, followed by a series of questions like “Have you ever travelledwith us?”.
Thecarrier warned that customers’ personal information could be stolen or they mayinadvertently assist deceptive behaviour on other users on social media.
Inorder to prevent increasingly sophisticated impersonation, Vietnam Airlineshighly advises customers to be vigilant against promotional offers from unknownwebsites and not to share personal details, account information or log on tothese sites. Vietnam Airlines also encourages users to share this informationto protect themselves, their families, friends and relatives from such illegalacts, it said.
