Three Vietnamese museums enter top 25 in Asia

The War Remnants Museum in Ho Chi Minh City, and the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology and the Vietnam Women’s Museum in Hanoi have entered the list of the top 25 most attractive museums in Asia, according to a recent Travelers' Choice Attractions survey conducted by TripAdvisor, the world’s largest tourism website.
The War Remnants Museum in Ho Chi Minh City, and the Vietnam Museum ofEthnology and the Vietnam Women’s Museum in Hanoi have entered the listof the top 25 most attractive museums in Asia, according to a recentTravelers' Choice Attractions survey conducted by TripAdvisor, theworld’s largest tourism website.

The War Remnants Museum onVo Van Tan street, District 3 in Ho Chi Minh City, which displaysdocuments, photos and artifacts showing the aftermath of the foreignwars that dragged on in Vietnam, was ranked fifth on the list.

Opened to visitors in November 1997, the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology inNguyen Van Huyen Road in Hanoi came in the sixth place. It showcasesaround 29,000 artifacts representing the tangible and intangiblecultural heritage of Vietnamese ethnic groups and Southeast Asiancountries.

The Vietnam Women’s Museum in Ly Thuong Kiet Street inHanoi is dedicated to the role of Vietnamese women during the paststruggles for national independence as well as in the current nationalconstruction and development. The museum was numbered 11 th on theTripAdvisor list.

The list is based on tourist votes for theirfavourites among more than 1,265 destinations in 39 countries around theworld, including landmarks, museums, parks and amusement parks.

TripAdvisor helps people with travel information and poststravel-related reviews and opinions, in addition to engaging ininteractive travel forums. It currently operates in 30 nations and hascreated the world’s largest tourism community.

The website isviewed by around 60 million tourists and receives more than 75 millioncomments and feedback responses every month.-VNA

Over 100 burials from 4000 years ago discovered in Hanoi

Archaeologists from the Vietnam Institute of Archaeology, the Hanoi Museum and the Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities have announced the discovery of over 70 graves from the pre-Dong Son period and 40 graves from Dong Son period at the Vuon Chuoi archaeological relic in Kim Chung commune, Hoai Duc district.

Festival promotes Vietnam-RoK cultural exchange

A cultural festival has been held in Uijeongbu city of the Republic of Korea (RoK)'s Gyeonggi province to mark the 10th anniversary of the Vietnam Women’s Association (VWA) in the country.

Hanoi Ao dai dance marks Vietnamese women’s day

More than 70,000 women from across the capital city of Hanoi dressed up in Ao dai (traditional long dress) and participated in a folk dance ensemble on October 20 to mark the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Hanoi and the 94th founding anniversary of the Vietnam Women’s Union.

The Vietnam Jungle Marathon (VJM) returns for its seventh edition, welcoming around 1,500 runners from almost 40 nations to the stunning trails of Pu Luong Nature Reserve in Thanh Hoa province on October 19, featuring picturesque 10km to 70km routes.

Vietnam attends UNESCO Executive Board’s 220th session in France

Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chairman of the Vietnam National Commission for UNESCO Ha Kim Ngoc led a Vietnamese delegation to attend the 220th session of the UNESCO Executive Board on October 14-16 in Paris, which saw the participation of representatives from 58 member countries and over 100 observer countries.
