Bangkok (VNA) - The Government ofThailand has confirmed that the general election will be organised inaccordance with the national reform roadmap.
The election date will be set after fourrelevant organic laws are completed and take effect, Deputy Prime MinisterGeneral Prawit Wongsuwan told the press on October 3.
The country’s government is determined to holdthe general election and will allow resumption of political activities aspreviously committed, he reiterated.
Meanwhile, the same day,Thai Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha informed US President DonaldTrump during his visit to the US that the organisation of the general electionwill be announced in 2018.
The Government of Thailand will abide byits roadmap of democracy and return power to its people in line withinternational standards, the Thai PM said, adding that the general electionwill take place within 150 days since the announcement.-VNA
